We are proud to announce an expansion of our current hosting offering. In the past we have offered more of a managed approach to hosting with each site we develop free for a year which included a 12 hour support response turn around. In order to give clients more control over their development and hosting environment we have expanded our fleet of dedicated servers with 2 more Linux cPanel servers.
We are currently migrating many of our existing clients to the new servers who have requested control panel access to their hosting environment. If you have an existing site with us and would like to have it migrated let us know and we will do so free of charge if requested before the month of April 2009.
New hosting and support packages will be offered at a later date so stay tuned.

My Roku Netflix player finally got the 1.5 firmware update I’ve been waiting anxiously for the last week or so. I was hoping for HD and Hulu but only got HD. It does however look like they’ve setup the home page for future additions. Maybe Hulu and YouTube are actually planned for the future after all.
On another note, after talking with my significant other we both agreed that the Roku was the coolest device we purchased in 2008.

My wife and I recently decided to change our business’s name from Open Source Solutions to Stellar Technologies. The reason for the change is twofold:
- If we are going to change the name the sooner the better.
- The idea behind the first name was that I would provide consulting to small businesses on how to use open source applications to manage their data. I don’t really do this so much anymore. I mainly provide tech support over the Internet and build websites/web applications.
Anyhow, we had a few brainstorm sessions and Stellar Technologies came out the winner. I started work on a new website to represent the new name and product offerings. It should be finished by the end of the week and will be located at http://stellartech.us.com.

It looks like CakePHP 1.2 is now officially fully beta. While this is old news that was announced at the beginning of the year, I simply did not get around to updating until today. My applications where currently using the alpha-beta release. Updating was a cinch and everything went well. No errors, updating configs, or changing any code.
I’ve been really looking forward to seeing 1.2 reach beta. My hats off to the development team for making such a great framework.
